Here is what we have for today: What are the benefits of project management?
There are five key benefits I’ll tell you about today:
First, one responsible person. There is a problem? Tell about it to your project manager. Now it is his problem. He is responsible for communicating it to others, facilitate work to find a solution and manage expectations of others.
Second, predictability. Even with high levels of uncertainty, there are tools and techniques to predict deadlines, costs, and required resources. Also, there are ways to control and keep the project within constraints. It doesn’t mean that project management can give 100% guarantees. Nevertheless, it increases chances for success.
Third, problem-solving. With one extremely responsible person in charge, you have someone interested in balancing the needs and requirements of different people. Moreover, PM doesn’t have ultimate authority over the project. So, he or she has to find ways to resolve problems and push the project further.
The fourth benefit is Project Team’s interest in the successful outcome. A good PM always tries to get team’s buy-in for the work at hand. Also, he cultivates ownership of the project, to say nothing of general motivation.
The fifth benefit is the education of Clients and customers. You know, it is not all about a project manager. Most of the business people don’t understand how to do projects. For its success, all stakeholders should be motivated, engaged, and educated in the ways of project management. That is something a PM is interested in doing proactively.
I have an article on benefits of project management, I’ll drop a link somewhere. You will find a dozen more benefits there.
OK, that’s all for today, if you want me to answer your question, please put it in the comments below. And do not forget to like this video. See you soon!
